Image Guidelines for the Top Social Networks

Your brand’s visual presence is the first (and sometimes only) thing potential customers experience of your brand. It can be tempting to re-share images you designed for one platform to be used across other social media networks. However, the proper dimensions for images and videos differ greatly across platforms.

Below, we have outlined the best practices and image guidelines for the top social networks to help you ensure that you are presenting your best face to your customers.

*All image dimensions are in pixels, width x height.

Facebook

With over a billion active monthly users, Facebook is the largest social network on a global scale. Your visual appearance on Facebook could decide whether you attract a large user base or not. One important aspect to note (before we talk specifics about photo dimensions) is that there is a difference between how things display on your personal timeline versus how they appear in a user’s newsfeed. As such, crop with the user’s experience in mind.
