One of LinkedIn’s new features could be a gamechanger for small businesses and freelancers. LinkedIn (LI) Service Pages are dedicated landed pages for businesses (and individuals) to highlight the services they offer. These pages are discoverable by ANYONE, regardless of connection on the platform, making it that much easier for more people to become aware of your services.
How To Get Started
As this is a new feature and is still in development, it is not yet available to all service-related businesses. To request this feature for your business, go to the LI Service Provider Group and click the “Request to join” button.
Once you are granted access, follow these steps:
- Click the icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
- Click the Open to button.
- Select Providing services.
- Click the Continue button after reviewing How it works.
- Complete the Service Page set up information.
- Click the Next button.
- Preview the information that will appear on your Service Page.
- Click the Make changes button to adjust your Service Page or click the Publish button to make your Service Page viewable by members.
The Benefits to Your Business
Once your LI Service page is completed and published, your list of services will appear near the top of your business’s LinkedIn profile page. This provides a quick, easy reference for potential clients who are looking for a specific service.
In addition, with a LinkedIn Service page, customers can message you directly, regardless of your connection status or privacy settings on LinkedIn.
Give It a Boost
Spread the news that you are #OpenForBusiness! Once you’ve finalized your Service page, LinkedIn will prompt you to announce it to your network. LinkedIn will provide you with an easily modified, pre-scripted message that you can customize for your brand.
As we all know, people trust what other customers have to say about a business (more than the business itself). So, a great way to boost the credibility and discoverability of your new LI Service page is to invite loyal customers to leave reviews on your Service page. You can invite up to 20 past customers or clients, but they must be a first-degree connection on LinkedIn. You can turn the review feature on or off at any time.
